Case Study: Stanford Advanced Project Management
In 1999, Stanford faculty member Prof. Ray Levitt saw the need to create a program to meet the education needs of project managers. These busy professionals could not afford to go back to the university to get a master's degree. They were, however, desperate for advanced content to enable them to succeed in their jobs. Paul Marca, who was at Stanford at the time, helped create the Stanford Advanced Project Management Program (SAPM), which offered content on campus, online and at company sites. Tim Wasserman helped guide the program's content and portfolio development, managing over 14 courses and the quality delivery of the content across the globe. Ultimately, the SAPM program served tens of thousands of learners and had over 10,000 graduates.

Paul Marca
Former Associate Vice Provost Stanford University and now principal of Parallax Global Advisors, Paul directed the Stanford Center for Professional Development, one of the leading university online education providers in the world. He was responsible for the strategy and execution of the organization, including developing program content and technical infrastructure to support graduate, professional and custom programs and driving revenues to benefit participating faculty and organizations. Paul created key partnerships around the globe including in UAE, China, KSA, France, Thailand and Cambodia, and is responsible for the creation of several award-winning programs, including the Stanford Advanced Project Management Program and the Strategic Decision and Risk Management program. A graduate of Stanford, Paul was a former student athlete on the NCAA champion baseball team.
Josh Keller
Josh is an experienced President and Chief Operating Officer with deep background in strategy and operations across a wide range of industries. A former strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, co-founder of two startups and more recently an extensive career in hospitality, Josh has been involved in the education space throughout his career, from acting as a longtime strategy consultant to the Stanford Center for Professional Development as it designed and implemented its strategy starting in 2014 to helping his Harvard MBA professor deliver custom education programs. Josh received his undergraduate degree with honors and distinction at Stanford and his MBA at Harvard University with high distinction.
TIm Wasserman
Former Chief Learning Officer of IPS Learning, Tim was a seminal figure in creating one of the most successful executive education programs at Stanford, the Stanford Advanced Project Management (SAPM) program. Tim was instrumental in the design and integration of the SAPM curriculum so it could be delivered on campus, online and at company sites around the world, benefitting thousands of learners annually. Tim has helped start-ups, established global companies, educational institutions and government entities strategize, build, and successfully scale learning programs that improve individual performance and transform organizational business results.
